Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes reverent recognition of the divine order: the world is upheld by many cosmic powers (Rudras, Ādityas, Aśvins, Vasus), and perceiving their presence evokes humility and ethical restraint before a larger, sacred reality.

Arjuna, addressing “O best of men,” describes what he perceives in a grand gathering: the immediate presence of multiple classes of gods—Rudras, Ādityas, the twin Aśvins, and the Vasus—indicating an extraordinary, awe-filled vision or encounter with a divine assembly.
