Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

ते भानुमन्ति चित्राणि शिखराणि महागिरे: । समास्थायार्जुनं तत्र ददृशुस्तपसान्वितम्‌

te bhānumanti citrāṇi śikharāṇi mahāgireḥ | samāsthāyārjunaṃ tatra dadṛśus tapasānvitam ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Having reached the radiant, wondrous peaks of the great mountain, they saw Arjuna there—steadfast and endowed with austerity—absorbed in his disciplined practice. The scene underscores how inner strength and righteous purpose are forged through tapas (self-restraint) before one can meet the demands of dharma.
