युधिछिर उवाच स्वधर्मे स्थिरता स्थैर्य धेर्यमिन्द्रियनिग्रह: । स्नान मनोमलत्यागो दान वै भूतरक्षणम्‌

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca svadharme sthiratā sthairyaṃ dhairyam indriyanigrahaḥ | snānaṃ manomalatyāgo dānaṃ vai bhūtarakṣaṇam ||

Translation

Yudhiṣṭhira said: Steadfastness in one’s own duty, firmness, courage, restraint of the senses, purity through bathing, casting off the mind’s impurities, giving in charity, and indeed the protection of living beings—these are the marks of righteous conduct.
