Kṣānti–Tejas Viveka: Prahlāda’s Instruction to Bali
Draupadī’s Application

Yudhiṣṭhira said: “This is the conduct of the self-controlled; this is the eternal Dharma. Forgiveness and compassion—these I will truly adopt and practice without hesitation. For I am fit for forgiveness, and therefore forgiveness takes refuge in me; but Suyodhana is not capable of taking up such a disposition.”
The verse presents forgiveness (kṣamā) and non-cruel compassion (anṛśaṁsya) as the defining conduct of the self-controlled and as eternal Dharma; Yudhiṣṭhira vows to embody these virtues as his deliberate ethical stance.
In the forest-exile context, Yudhiṣṭhira contrasts his own commitment to forgiveness with Suyodhana’s incapacity for such restraint, framing the coming conflict as morally charged while reaffirming his personal adherence to compassionate Dharma.
