एतैहिं राजा नियतं चोद्यमान: शमं प्रति | राज्यं दातेति मे बुद्धिर्न चेल्लोभान्नशिष्यति,ये सब लोग यदि राजा धुृतराष्ट्रको सदा शान्तिके लिये प्रेरित करते रहेंगे तो वे अवश्य मुझे राज्य दे देंगे, ऐसा मुझे विश्वास है। यदि नहीं देंगे तो लोभके कारण नष्ट हो जायँगे

etaiḥ hi rājā niyataṃ codyamānaḥ śamaṃ prati | rājyaṃ dāsyatīti me buddhir na cel lobhān naśiṣyati ||

Yudhiṣṭhira said: “If these people keep urging the king, again and again, toward peace, I am convinced he will grant me the kingdom. But if he does not, then he will not endure—he will be ruined by greed.”
