Mārkaṇḍeya said: “Acting in accordance with Vibhīṣaṇa’s counsel, he crossed the vast ocean. O king, with his entire army he traversed it by that bridge, accomplishing the passage within a single month.” The verse highlights prudent reliance on wise advice and disciplined collective effort in the pursuit of a righteous objective.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
A righteous leader advances effectively by heeding sound counsel (Vibhīṣaṇa’s advice) and organizing sustained, disciplined effort (the army crossing via the bridge), showing that dharmic aims are best pursued through wisdom and coordinated action rather than impulse.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that Śrī Rāma, following Vibhīṣaṇa’s guidance, crossed the great ocean with his army by means of the constructed bridge (setu), completing the crossing within a month.
