Sāvitrī-Upākhyāna: Dyumatsena’s Restoration and the Return to Kāmyaka

Conclusion

ity ukto lakṣmaṇas tena vānareṇdreṇa dhīmatā | tyaktvā roṣam adīnātmā sugrīvaṁ pratyapūjayat ||

Thus addressed by the wise lord of the monkeys, Lakṣmaṇa—steadfast and noble-hearted—set aside his anger and, in return, honored Sugrīva with respectful praise. The episode underscores the ethical strength of self-restraint: even when provoked, one who upholds dharma chooses reconciliation and courteous speech over resentment.
