ततकश्नतुर्मुखो ब्रह्मा नाभिषाद् विनि:सृत: । तत्रोपविष्ट: सहसा पद्मे लोकपितामह:,“उस नाभिकमलसे चतुर्मुख ब्रह्माजीका प्रादुर्भाव हुआ। उस कमलपर बैठे हुए लोकपितामह ब्रह्माजीने सहसा सम्पूर्ण जगत्को शून्य देखकर अपने मानसपुत्रके रूपमें अपने ही-जैसे प्रभावशाली मरीचि आदि नौ महर्षियोंको उत्पन्न किया
tataś caturmukho brahmā nābhiṣād viniḥsṛtaḥ | tatropaviṣṭaḥ sahasā padme lokapitāmahaḥ |
Then the four-faced Brahmā emerged from the lotus that sprang from the navel. Seated at once upon that lotus, the grandsire of the worlds beheld the entire expanse as void, and—taking the role of mind-born progenitor—brought forth the powerful sages beginning with Marīci (the nine great Ṛṣis), to set creation in motion.
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse frames creation as an ordered emergence: Brahmā arises and immediately generates mind-born sages to populate and regulate the world. Ethically, it implies that cosmic order (dharma) is sustained through wise progenitors and disciplined lineages rather than randomness.
Bhīma recounts a cosmogonic episode: Brahmā appears from the navel-lotus, sits upon it, perceives emptiness, and initiates creation by producing powerful sages such as Marīci (and the other great Ṛṣis).
