Bhīmasena said: “Then, at the very moment of profound contemplation undertaken for the sake of bringing forth creation, the Eternal One—upon merely thinking—caused a lotus to arise from His navel.” The verse evokes the idea that ordered life and responsibility toward beings begin with inner resolve and purposeful thought, not with impulsive action.

Educational Q&A

Creation and right order are portrayed as arising from deliberate, focused contemplation; purposeful inner intention precedes and governs outward manifestation.

Bhīma describes a cosmogonic moment: the Lord, intending creation, enters contemplation, and from His navel a lotus appears—an emblem of the unfolding of the created world.
