Vaiśampāyana said: Then those youthful heroes, borne along by splendid chariots yoked with many swift horses from Sindhu—horses whose speed was like the fierce rush of the wind—turned their course toward the hermitage. The passage underscores purposeful movement guided by resolve, as the warriors’ power is directed not toward conquest here, but toward reaching a place of ascetic order and counsel.

Educational Q&A

Strength and speed are ethically meaningful when directed by right intention; here martial energy is oriented toward an āśrama, symbolizing a turn toward counsel, restraint, and dharmic guidance rather than mere aggression.

The youthful warriors, riding in excellent chariots drawn by very swift Sindhu horses, set out and head toward a hermitage, marking a transition to an encounter or consultation in an ascetic setting.
