स््नातुं गतान् देवनद्यां दुर्वास: प्रभृतीन् मुनीन् | नृपश्रेष्ठ! तब महायशस्वी सहदेव देवनदीमें स्नानके लिये गये हुए उन दुर्वासा आदि सब मुनियोंको भोजनके निमित्त बुलानेके लिये तुरंत गये
Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | Snātuṃ gatān devanadyāṃ Durvāsāḥ prabhṛtīn munīn | Nṛpaśreṣṭha! tadā mahāyaśasvī Sahadevaḥ devanadīṃ snānaṃ kartum gatān Durvāsā-prabhṛtīn sarvān munīn bhojananimittaṃ āhvātuṃ tūrṇaṃ jagāma |
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “O best of kings, at that time the illustrious Sahadeva quickly went to invite for a meal the sages—Durvāsā and the others—who had gone to the divine river to bathe.” The passage highlights prompt, respectful hospitality toward ascetics as a matter of dharma, especially when powerful guests are involved.
