Mudgalasya Svarga-nirvedaḥ
Mudgala’s Disenchantment with Heaven
tato duryodhana-muktaḥ bhrātṛbhiḥ sahitas tadā | yudhiṣṭhiras tu praṇayād idaṃ vacanam abravīt || svastimān sahitaḥ sarvair bhrātṛbhiḥ kurunandana | gṛhān vraja yathākāmaṃ vaimanasyaṃ ca mā kṛthāḥ ||
Then Duryodhana, released and accompanied by his brothers, was about to depart. Out of affectionate regard, Yudhiṣṭhira addressed him: “O joy of the Kurus, go home safely with all your brothers, as you wish. Do not harbor any ill-will toward us.”

Even amid rivalry, Yudhiṣṭhira models dharmic restraint: he prioritizes safety, courteous speech, and the deliberate refusal to cultivate resentment (vaimanasya). The ethical emphasis is on maintaining goodwill and preventing enmity from hardening into lasting hatred.
Duryodhana has been freed and is leaving with his brothers. Yudhiṣṭhira, speaking affectionately, bids him depart safely and urges him not to bear ill-will toward the Pāṇḍavas, framing the moment as an attempt at de-escalation.
