Mudgalasya Svarga-nirvedaḥ

Mudgala’s Disenchantment with Heaven

मा सम तात पुनः कार्षीरीदृशं साहसं क्वचित्‌ । न हि साहसकर्तार: सुखमेधन्ति भारत,“तात! फिर कभी ऐसा दुःसाहस न करना। भारत! दुःसाहस करनेवाले मनुष्य कभी सुखी नहीं होते

mā sma tāta punaḥ kārṣīr īdṛśaṃ sāhasaṃ kvacit | na hi sāhasakartāraḥ sukham edhanti bhārata ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “My dear child, never again commit such a reckless act. O Bhārata, those who act with rash audacity do not truly prosper in happiness.”
