Mārkaṇḍeya said: “The semen discharged by Rudra became transformed into the White Mountain. There, upon that White Mountain, the Kṛttikās placed the generative essence of Pāvaka (Agni).”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse frames extraordinary creative power as something that must be carefully relocated and contained: divine potency is not merely personal but cosmic, shaping sacred geography and requiring responsible mediation (here, by the Kṛttikās).
Mārkaṇḍeya recounts a mythic sequence: Rudra’s discharged generative essence becomes the White Mountain, and the Kṛttikās then convey and place Agni’s generative essence upon that mountain—part of the broader origin-cycle connected with the birth traditions of Skanda/Kārttikeya.
