Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father
evaṁ daśa diśaḥ sarvāstiryagūrdhya ca bhārata | nādayāmāsur asurās te cāpi nihatā mayā, bhārata ||
Vāyu said: “Thus, O Bhārata, in all the ten directions—sideways and above as well—the Asuras raised a great uproar; yet they too were struck down by me. The passage underscores how violent tumult and arrogance, even when spread in every direction, meet their end when opposed by a divinely aligned force acting to restrain disorder.”
वायुदेव उवाच
Noise, aggression, and disorder spreading in every direction do not establish strength or righteousness; when opposed by a power aligned with cosmic order, such adharma is checked and destroyed.
Vāyudeva describes how the Asuras created a great clamor throughout all directions—horizontally and above—yet he overcame them and slew them.
