Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father

Vāyu said: “All those Dānavas who had raised that uproar were slain—struck down by blazing, sun-bright arrows, weapons aimed by sound itself. Thus, the very noise they unleashed became the means by which they were found and destroyed, showing how reckless aggression and boastful clamor can return upon its makers.”

The verse highlights moral causality: those who create violent disturbance and intimidation become vulnerable to the consequences of their own actions; the uproar they raise turns into the very means of their downfall.
Vāyu reports that the Dānavas who had earlier made a loud clamor were killed by blazing, sun-like arrows described as ‘sound-directed,’ implying that the attackers were located and struck by tracking the noise they produced.
