The hunter-sage said: “In this body too, the region extending down to the anus is known as the ‘guda’ (rectal/anal region). From that guda arise the channels (srotas), which become manifest throughout all the vital functions of embodied beings.” In context, the speaker uses anatomical description to ground an ethical teaching: understanding the body’s constructed, functional nature supports detachment, humility, and disciplined conduct rather than pride or indulgence.
