Uttanka’s Tapas, Viṣṇu-stuti, and the Dhundhumāra Prophecy

Opening

tato 'dharmavināśo vai dharmavṛddhiś ca bhārata | bhaviṣyati kṛte prāpte kriyāvāṁś ca janas tathā ||

Then, O Bhārata, the destruction of adharma will indeed occur, and dharma will increase. When the Kṛta (Satya) Yuga arrives, people too will become devoted to right action—living in accordance with truth and duty.

Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that moral order is cyclical: when adharma is removed, dharma naturally flourishes, culminating in the Kṛta (Satya) Yuga where people become committed to truthful and righteous action.

Mārkaṇḍeya is describing a future transition of the ages: after a period of decline, adharma will be destroyed and dharma will grow, and with the arrival of Kṛta Yuga humanity will return to righteous conduct.
