Mārkaṇḍeya said: “When the heavenly bodies converge into a single sign, then the Kṛta (Satya) Yuga will set in. At that time the rain-bearing clouds will pour in due season, and the stars and constellations will become auspicious (bright and beneficent).”

Educational Q&A

The verse links moral-cosmic renewal (the return of Kṛta/Satya Yuga) with harmony in nature: when time becomes auspicious, celestial order and timely rains support the welfare of the world—an image of dharma restoring balance.

Mārkaṇḍeya is describing future omens of a new age: a convergence in the zodiac signals the onset of Kṛta Yuga, marked by regular rainfall and auspicious, radiant constellations.
