Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
ततस्ते भ्रातरं दृष्टवा परिष्वज्य महारथा: । तत्रोपविविशु: पार्था: प्राप्ता गतिमनुत्तमाम्,तब वे उत्तम आश्रयको प्राप्त हुए महारथी पाण्डव भाई भीमसेनको हृदयसे लगाकर उनके पास ही बैठ गये
tataste bhrātaraṁ dṛṣṭvā pariṣvajya mahārathāḥ | tatropaviviśuḥ pārthāḥ prāptā gatim anuttamām ||
Then, on seeing their brother, the mighty chariot-warriors embraced him warmly. Thereupon the Pārthas sat down there beside him, having attained a most excellent refuge and state of safety—signaling fraternal solidarity and the relief of finding secure support amid hardship.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic kinship: in adversity, righteous strength is sustained through mutual support, affectionate reconciliation, and taking refuge in trustworthy companions rather than in pride or isolation.
The Pāṇḍavas see their brother, embrace him with relief and affection, and then sit down near him—suggesting they have found a secure and excellent resting-place or support after strain and movement in the forest narrative.
