Vaiśampāyana said: That mountain-peak then shone in beauty because of those four mighty bowmen—just as heaven is adorned by the illustrious guardians of the worlds, the foremost among the gods. The verse underscores how true excellence and disciplined prowess can lend splendor to a place, when borne with dignity rather than arrogance.

Educational Q&A

The verse conveys that disciplined excellence—especially when aligned with noble conduct—naturally brings honor and beauty to its surroundings, just as righteous cosmic rulers adorn heaven by their presence.

The narrator describes a mountain summit appearing splendid because four great archers are present there, comparing their effect to the splendor heaven gains from the presence of the world-guardians such as Indra.
