Arjuna’s Arrival and Reunion on the Sacred Mountain
ततः प्रहृष्टरोेमाणस्तं शब्दमभिदुद्रुवु: । यक्षराक्षसगन्धर्वा: पाण्डवस्य समीपत:,तब यक्ष, राक्षस और गन्धर्व रोमाज्वित होकर उस शब्दको लक्ष्य करके पाण्डुनन्दन भीमसेनके समीप दौड़े आये
tataḥ prahṛṣṭaromāṇas taṃ śabdam abhidudruvuḥ | yakṣarākṣasagandharvāḥ pāṇḍavasya samīpataḥ ||
Then, thrilled and bristling with excitement, the Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, and Gandharvas rushed toward that sound, converging upon the vicinity of the Pāṇḍava (Bhīmasena). The verse heightens the sense of sudden supernatural attention drawn by a single signal, suggesting how actions and disturbances in the forest can swiftly summon powerful beings and test a hero’s steadiness and discernment.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A small disturbance can draw swift consequences in a charged environment; the episode underscores vigilance and discernment when one’s actions attract powerful forces, especially in the wilderness where unseen beings respond quickly.
After a notable sound is heard, groups of supernatural beings—Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, and Gandharvas—become excited and rush toward it, arriving near the Pāṇḍava (Bhīma), intensifying the impending confrontation or inquiry.
