Arjuna’s Arrival and Reunion on the Sacred Mountain
तत:ः शड्खमुपाध्मासीद् द्विषतां लोमहर्षणम् । ज्याघोषतलशब्दं च कृत्वा भूतान्यमोहयत्,उनके हाथमें गदा, खड़ग और धनुष शोभा पा रहे थे। उन्होंने अपने जीवनका मोह सर्वथा छोड़ दिया था। वे माहबाहु भीमसेन वहाँ पर्वतकी भाँति अविचल-भावसे कुछ देर खड़े रहे। तत्पश्चात् उन्होंने बड़े जोरसे शंख बजाया, जिसकी आवाज शशत्रुओंके रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाली थी। फिर धनुषकी टंकार करके समस्त प्राणियोंकों मोहित कर दिया
tataḥ śaṅkham upādhmāsīd dviṣatāṁ lomaharṣaṇam | jyāghoṣatalāśabdaṁ ca kṛtvā bhūtāny amohayat ||
Then he blew his conch with a force that made the enemies’ hair stand on end. And, producing the sharp reverberation of the bowstring’s twang, he stunned and overawed all living beings. The scene underscores a warrior’s deliberate resolve: having cast off personal attachment, he signals readiness for righteous action through disciplined, fear-inducing martial sound.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
