Kubera’s Arrival and the Disclosure of Agastya’s Curse
Vaiśaṃpāyana–Janamejaya Narrative
ततः श्रान्तं तु तद् रक्षो भीमसेनभुजाहतम् । सुपरिश्रान्तमालक्ष्य भीमसेनो< भ्यवर्तत,भीमसेनकी भुजाओंके आघातसे वह राक्षस थक गया था। तदनन्तर उसे अधिक थका हुआ देख भीमसेन आगे बढ़ते गये
tataḥ śrāntaṃ tu tad rakṣo bhīmasenabhujāhatam | supariśrāntam ālakṣya bhīmaseno 'bhyavartata ||
Then that rākṣasa, struck by the blows of Bhīmasena’s arms, became exhausted. Seeing him utterly worn out, Bhīmasena pressed forward, continuing the attack—showing relentless resolve in battle against a harmful foe.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfast courage and decisive action against a dangerous adversary: when a harmful force weakens, one should not become careless but should act firmly to neutralize the threat, aligning strength with protective duty.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the rākṣasa, battered by Bhīma’s powerful blows, becomes exhausted; noticing this, Bhīma advances further, intensifying the engagement.
