त॑ वज्ननिष्पेषसममास्फोटितमहारवम् | श्रुत्वा शैलगुहासुप्तै: सिंहैर्मुक्तो महास्वन:,पर्वतोंपर वज्रपात होनेके कारण उस ताल ठोंकनेके भयानक शब्दको सुनकर गुफाओंमें सोये हुए सिंहोंने भी जोर-जोरसे दहाड़ना आरम्भ किया
taṁ vajra-niṣpeṣa-samam āsphoṭita-mahā-ravam | śrutvā śaila-guhā-suptaiḥ siṁhair mukto mahā-svanaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing that terrifying, thunderous sound—like the crushing blow of a thunderbolt, as if a mighty clap had been struck—lions that had been sleeping in mountain caves were roused and began to roar aloud. The scene underscores how a single violent disturbance in nature can awaken even the most dormant forces, mirroring how upheaval in human affairs can stir latent power and fear.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how intense, disruptive force (symbolized by a thunderbolt-like sound) can awaken dormant energies and provoke powerful reactions—an ethical reminder that actions creating turmoil can have wide, uncontrollable consequences.
A tremendous, thunderbolt-like crashing sound is heard on the mountain; even lions sleeping in mountain caves are startled awake and roar loudly in response.
