Bhīmasena–Hanūmān Saṃvāda: The Tail Test and the Divine Path
कदाचिज्जुषते पार्थमात्मजं मातरिश्वन: । महान् धनुष-बाण लेकर जाते हुए भीमसेनको उस समय सब प्राणियोंने देखा। उन वायुपुत्र कुन्ती-कुमारको कभी ग्लानि, विकलता, भय अथवा घबराहट नहीं होती थी ।। १२ हे || द्रौपद्या: प्रियमन्विच्छन् स बाहुबलमाश्रित:,द्रौपदीका प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे अपने बाहुबलका भरोसा करके भय और मोहसे रहित बलवान् भीमसेन सामनेके शैल-शिखरपर चढ़ गये। वह पर्वत वृक्षों, लताओं और झाड़ियोंसे आच्छादित था। उसकी शिलाएँ नीले रंगकी थीं। वहाँ किन्नरलोग भ्रमण करते थे। शत्रुसंहारी भीमसेन उस सुन्दर पर्वतपर विचरने लगे। बहुरंगे धातुओं, वृक्षों, मृगों और पक्षियोंसे उसकी विचित्र शोभा हो रही थी
vaiśampāyana uvāca | kadācij juṣate pārtham ātmajaṃ mātariśvanaḥ | mahān dhanuṣ-bāṇaṃ gṛhītvā gacchantaṃ bhīmasenaṃ tadā sarva-prāṇibhir dṛṣṭam | taṃ vāyuputraṃ kuntī-kumāraṃ kadācid api na glānir na vikalatā na bhayaṃ na sambhramaḥ | draupadyāḥ priyam anvicchan sa bāhubalam āśritaḥ | bhaya-moha-vivarjitaḥ balavān bhīmasenaḥ purataḥ śaila-śikharaṃ samāruroha | sa parvataḥ vṛkṣa-latā-gulma-saṃchannaḥ | tasya śilā nīla-varṇāḥ | tatra kinnarāḥ paribhramanti | śatru-saṃhārī bhīmasenaḥ tasmin sundare parvate vicacāra | bahuraṅga-dhātu-vṛkṣa-mṛga-pakṣi-saṃyuktayā tasya vicitrā śobhā babhūva |
Vaiśampāyana said: At one time, Bhīmasena—son of Mātariśvan (Vāyu) and Kuntī’s prince—was seen by all creatures as he went forth bearing a great bow and arrows. In that Vāyu-born hero there was never weariness, faint-heartedness, fear, or agitation. Seeking to do what was dear to Draupadī, relying on the strength of his own arms, free from fear and delusion, the mighty Bhīma climbed the rocky peak before him. The mountain was covered with trees, creepers, and thickets; its stones were dark-blue, and Kinnaras wandered there. The slayer of foes ranged upon that beautiful mountain, whose strange splendor shone with many-colored minerals, trees, deer, and birds.
