Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)
ततो ब्रह्माणमासीनं ज्वलमानमिव श्रिया । देवा: सर्षिगणाश्वैव उपतस्थुरनेकश:,स्वर्ग, अन्तरिक्ष तथा भूलोक सबमें अत्यन्त हाहाकार मच गया। कोई भी देवता या मनुष्य स्थिर नहीं रह सका। तब अनेक देवता और ऋषि ब्रह्माजीके समीप गये। उस समय वे अपने आसनपर बैठकर दिव्य कान्तिसे प्रकाशित हो रहे थे
tato brahmāṇam āsīnaṃ jvalamānam iva śriyā | devāḥ sarṣigaṇāś caiva upatasthur anekaśaḥ ||
Then they approached Brahmā, who was seated, blazing as it were with splendor. The gods—together with companies of ṛṣis—came to attend upon him in great numbers. In the background of this episode, a widespread upheaval and alarm had arisen across heaven, the mid-region, and the earth, so that none among gods or humans could remain composed; therefore they sought Brahmā’s counsel and refuge as the stabilizing authority of cosmic order.
