Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)
एतस्मिन् संकुले तात वर्तमाने भयंकरे | अतिभाराद् वसुमती योजनानां शतं गता,तात! इस प्रकार सब प्राणियोंकी वृद्धि होनेसे जब बड़ी भयंकर अवस्था आ गयी तब अत्यन्त भारसे दबकर यह पृथ्वी सैकड़ों योजन नीचे चली गयी
etasmin saṅkule tāta vartamāne bhayaṅkare | atibhārād vasumatī yojanānāṃ śataṃ gatā ||
Lomasa said: “Dear child, when this world had fallen into such a confused and terrifying condition, the Earth—overwhelmed by the excessive burden—sank down by a hundred yojanas.”
लोगमश उवाच
When disorder and unchecked increase create an excessive burden on the world, nature itself is portrayed as reacting—signaling the need for restraint, balance, and restoration of order.
Lomasa describes a time of severe turmoil in which the Earth, pressed down by an overwhelming load, is said to have sunk by a hundred yojanas—an image emphasizing the extremity of the crisis.
