Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)

तथा पुरुषशार्दूल मानुषाश्न परंतप | सहस्रशो हायुतशो वर्धन्ते सलिलं यथा,शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले नरश्रेष्ठ जैसे बरसातमें पानी बढ़ता है, उसी प्रकार मनुष्य भी हजार एवं दस हजार गुनी संख्यामें बढ़ने लगे

Transliteration

tathā puruṣaśārdūla mānuṣāś ca parantapa | sahasraśo hy āyutaśo vardhante salilaṃ yathā ||

Translation

Lomasa said: “So too, O tiger among men, O scorcher of foes: just as waters swell in the rainy season, in the same way human beings began to multiply—by thousands and by tens of thousands.”
