Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the limits of ordinary description when confronted with extraordinary, otherworldly power: even gods and asuras cannot fully define such a form. Ethically, it cautions against pride in one’s knowledge and urges humility before the vastness of the cosmos.

Lomaśa is describing a being of overwhelming and indescribable appearance. He emphasizes both the ineffability of the body and a specific terrifying feature—an enormous mouth with sharp teeth—intensifying the sense of awe and danger in the scene.
