कथं नु भार्या पार्थानां तव कृष्ण सखी विभो । धृष्टद्युम्नस्य भगिनी सभां कृष्येत मादृशी,भगवन्‌ कृष्ण! मेरे-जैसी स्त्री जो कुन्तीपुत्रोंकी पत्नी, आपकी सखी और धृष्टद्युम्न- जैसे वीरकी बहिन हो, क्या किसी तरह सभामें (केश पकड़कर) घसीटकर लायी जा सकती है?

Transliteration

kathaṁ nu bhāryā pārthānāṁ tava kṛṣṇa sakhī vibho | dhṛṣṭadyumnasya bhaginī sabhāṁ kṛṣyet mādṛśī ||

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “How could a woman like me—wife of the Pārthas, your friend, O Kṛṣṇa, and the sister of Dhṛṣṭadyumna—be dragged by the hair into the royal assembly? Such an outrage violates every boundary of honor and dharma, and exposes the collapse of righteous conduct in that court.”
