Vaiśampāyana said: O Janamejaya, when the Bhojas heard that the Pāṇḍavas—scorched by sorrow—had departed from the city and gone into exile, the Vṛṣṇis too, together with the heroes of the Andhaka clan, went into the great forest to meet them. The verse frames a dharmic response to suffering: kin and allies do not abandon the afflicted, but seek them out to offer solidarity, counsel, and support.

Educational Q&A

A dharmic community does not desert those in distress. When the Pāṇḍavas suffer exile, allied clans respond by going to them—an ethical model of loyalty, compassion, and responsibility toward kin and friends.

News reaches the Bhojas that the grief-stricken Pāṇḍavas have left the city for the forest. The Vṛṣṇis and Andhakas, along with the Bhojas, set out into the great forest to meet them, initiating a consoling and supportive encounter.
