मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
समाश्चास्य च ते सर्वे द्रौपद्रीं भरतर्षभा: । प्रहृष्टमनस: प्रीत्या प्रशशंसुर्व॑कोदरम्,भरतकुलके भूषणरूप उन सभी वीरोंने द्रौधदीको आश्वासन देकर प्रसन्नचित्त हो प्रेमपूर्वक भीमसेनकी सराहना की
samāś cāsya ca te sarve draupadrīṃ bharatarṣabhāḥ | prahṛṣṭamanasaḥ prītyā praśaśaṃsur vṛkodaram ||
All those heroes, O bull among the Bharatas, consoled Draupadī; then, their hearts uplifted and moved by affection, they warmly praised Bhīmasena (Vṛkodara). The scene underscores a dharmic response to suffering: offering reassurance to the afflicted and honoring steadfast strength used in the service of righteousness.
विदुर उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic social ethic: respond to distress with reassurance and emotional support, and recognize righteous strength by praising it—encouraging morale and unity in adversity.
The assembled heroes comfort Draupadī and, feeling joyful and affectionate, commend Bhīma (Vṛkodara), acknowledging his role and resolve in protecting and upholding their cause.
