मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
आक्रम्य च कटीदेशे जानुना राक्षसाधमम् | पीडयामास पाणिभ्यां कण्ठं तस्थ वृकोदर:,भीमने उस राक्षसके कटिप्रदेशको अपने घुटनेसे दबाकर दोनों हाथोंसे उसका गला मरोड़ दिया
ākrāmya ca kaṭīdeśe jānunā rākṣasādhamam | pīḍayāmāsa pāṇibhyāṃ kaṇṭhaṃ tasthā vṛkodaraḥ ||
Then Vṛkodara (Bhīma), planting his knee upon the demon’s waist, pressed him down and, with both hands, throttled his throat—an act of decisive force used to subdue a cruel aggressor and protect the righteous from harm.
विदुर उवाच
When confronted by a violent and unrighteous aggressor, decisive strength may be employed to restrain and eliminate the threat; such force is framed as protective rather than cruel when directed against adharma.
Bhīma (Vṛkodara) pins a wicked rākṣasa by pressing his knee into the demon’s waist and then strangles him with both hands, standing firm until the enemy is subdued.
