Vaiśampāyana said: “By bathing here, your human condition will fall away. Freed from grief, without strain or affliction, and released from enmity, you will become.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Purification is presented as an inner transformation: through sacred bathing, sorrow and hostility are relinquished, and the person becomes fit for a higher, reconciled state beyond ordinary human limitations.
Vaiśampāyana describes the effect of bathing at this sacred spot (associated with the Mandākinī): the bather’s mortal disposition is said to fade, and they become free from grief, strain, and enmity—signaling readiness for the final ascent and resolution of lingering conflicts.
