Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 2 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry for His Kin and the Vision of a Punitive Realm
ततः कुन्तीसुतो राजा देवदूतश्न जग्मतुः । सहितौ राजशार्दूल यत्र ते पुरुषर्षभा:,नृपश्रेष्ठ! तब कुन्तीपुत्र राजा युधिष्ठिर और देवदूत दोनों साथ-साथ उस स्थानकी ओर चले जहाँ वे पुरुषप्रवर भीमसेन आदि थे
tataḥ kuntīsuto rājā devadūtena jagmatuḥ | sahitau rājaśārdūla yatra te puruṣarṣabhāḥ ||
Then the king, Kuntī’s son (Yudhiṣṭhira), went on together with the divine messenger. O tiger among kings, they proceeded to the place where those foremost of men—his heroic brothers such as Bhīmasena—were. The movement underscores Yudhiṣṭhira’s steadfast concern for his companions and his refusal to accept personal elevation without the company of the righteous.
