ततो<5स्याक थयदू राजन् नारद: सर्वधर्मवित्
tato 'syākathayad ū rājann nāradaḥ sarvadharmavit
Then Nārada, the knower of all dharma, related the matter to him, O King—setting forth the account with an eye to righteous conduct and its consequences.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma as the lens through which events should be understood: a sage who knows dharma (Nārada) becomes the authoritative narrator, implying that ethical discernment is essential for interpreting actions and outcomes.
Vaishampayana reports that Nārada begins to narrate an account to a king (addressed as 'rājan'), indicating a transition into a didactic or explanatory episode guided by Nārada’s expertise in dharma.
