त॑ देशमगमद् यत्र श्रीमान् रामो व्यवस्थित: । प्रत्युत्थाय च त॑ सम्पक् पूजयित्वा यतव्रतम्
taṁ deśam agamad yatra śrīmān rāmo vyavasthitaḥ | pratyutthāya ca taṁ samyak pūjayitvā yatavrataṁ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: He went to the place where the illustrious Rāma was stationed. Rising to greet him, he duly honored that self-disciplined man—showing the proper respect owed to virtue and restraint even amid the pressures of war.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Proper conduct (dharma) is shown through respectful greeting and honoring the virtuous—especially those marked by self-restraint (yatavrata). Social and ethical order is maintained by recognizing merit and discipline.
A person goes to the location where Rāma is positioned, rises to greet him, and offers due honor, indicating formal reception and reverence toward a disciplined figure.
