Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement

Sañjaya said: Your brothers have been slain—valiant men; and your sons too, along with their armies. Many warrior-kings as well, steadfast in battle and never turning back from the fight, have fallen under the power of death. The report underscores the moral gravity of war: courage and royal duty do not exempt anyone from mortality, and the fruits of violent conflict are irrevocable loss and grief.
