Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement
हत्वा दुर्योधनं चापि प्रयच्छोर्वीं ससागराम्
hatvā duryodhanaṃ cāpi prayacchorvīṃ sasāgarām
Sañjaya said: “Having slain Duryodhana as well, (he) would then bestow the earth—together with its encircling seas.” The line frames victory not merely as personal triumph but as the power to dispose of sovereignty itself, raising the ethical question of whether kingship is to be seized for oneself or granted in accordance with rightful order.
