Kṛpa’s Counsel on Destiny and Human Effort
तेअत्र पृष्टा यथा ब्रूयुस्तत् कर्तव्यं तथा भवेत् | पूछनेपर वे विद्वान् हितैषी अपनी बुद्धिसे उसके कार्योंके मूल कारणका निश्चय करके जैसी सलाह दें, वैसा ही उसे करना चाहिये
te 'tra pṛṣṭā yathā brūyus tat kartavyaṃ tathā bhavet |
Kṛpa said: “When questioned in this matter, whatever counsel the wise and well-wishing give, that should be taken as the course of action and carried out accordingly.”
कृप उवाच
A ruler or agent should seek guidance from wise, well-intentioned advisors and then act in accordance with that considered counsel; ethical action is grounded in informed deliberation rather than impulse.
In the Sauptika Parva’s tense aftermath, Kṛpa speaks as an elder counselor, emphasizing that when advice is sought from competent well-wishers, their recommendation should determine what is to be done next.
