Daiva–Puruṣakāra Saṃvāda
Kṛpa’s Counsel on Destiny and Human Effort
उत्थायोत्थाय हि सदा प्रष्टव्या वृद्धसम्मता:
utthāyotthāya hi sadā praṣṭavyā vṛddhasammatāḥ
Again and again, one should rise and continually seek counsel from those elders who are widely acknowledged as wise; for in moments of peril and moral uncertainty, guidance grounded in experience steadies one’s conduct and decision.
कृप उवाच
One should repeatedly and respectfully consult recognized elders and the wise; ethical action, especially in crisis, is strengthened by guidance rooted in experience and accepted authority.
In the Sauptika Parva’s tense aftermath of battle, Kṛpa emphasizes the need for continual consultation with respected elders—an admonition about prudent decision-making amid danger and moral strain.
