Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Droṇa Parva—specifically in the section called the Pratijñā Parva, in the episode concerning Jayadratha—ends the seventy-fourth chapter. This closing colophon signals the completion of a narrative unit centered on vows and their moral weight amid the pressures of war, where personal resolve and responsibility shape the unfolding of fate.

Educational Q&A

Even a chapter-ending colophon highlights a central Mahābhārata concern: pratijñā (a vow) is not merely personal resolve but a moral commitment whose consequences unfold in the public arena of dharma and war.

This line marks the formal end of the seventy-fourth chapter within the Droṇa Parva, locating it inside the Pratijñā Parva and the Jayadratha-focused episode, thereby signaling a completed segment of the war narrative tied to vows and Jayadratha.
