Thus ends the seventy-third chapter of the Pratijñā-parvan within the Droṇa-parvan of the Śrī Mahābhārata, dealing with Arjuna’s vow. The closing colophon frames the episode as a moral turning-point in the war narrative, where a warrior’s solemn pledge becomes a binding ethical force that drives action and consequence on the battlefield.

The colophon highlights the ethical weight of a pratijñā (solemn vow): once undertaken, it becomes a binding commitment that shapes conduct and accountability, especially in a dharma-charged context like war.
This is not a spoken verse by Bhīma but a concluding colophon stating that the seventy-third chapter—focused on Arjuna’s vow—has ended within the Pratijñā-parvan of the Droṇa-parvan.
