Abhimanyu advances toward Droṇa’s host

Bhima said: “Wherever you once break through the battle-formation, there and again and again we shall shatter it—cutting down the foremost champions as we go.”
The verse highlights coordinated resolve in warfare: once an opening is created, disciplined follow-through—targeting key combatants—can repeatedly collapse even well-designed formations. Ethically, it reflects the Kshatriya emphasis on courage and strategic duty within the battlefield context.
Bhima encourages an ally (addressed as “you”) that if he breaches the enemy’s vyuha even once at any point, Bhima and his side will exploit that breach repeatedly, killing the foremost enemy warriors and thereby destroying the formation again and again.
