Vyāsa said: Hearing the words of Padmayoni (Brahmā), Maheśvara became pleased. Turning his attention toward granting grace, he then burst into a loud, resonant laugh—an auspicious sign that the divine response was about to unfold.
व्यास उवाच
The verse highlights how sincere, authoritative speech (here, Brahmā’s words) can elicit divine favor: Śiva’s pleasure and his turning toward ‘prasāda’ signal that grace is not random but responds to rightful intention and cosmic propriety.
Vyāsa narrates that after hearing Brahmā (Padmayoni), Śiva becomes pleased and, poised to grant a boon or favor, gives a loud laugh—often a dramatic marker that a decisive divine intervention or revelation is imminent.
