सधूमान् सस्फुलिज्ांश्व विद्युत्तोयदर्संनि भान् । त॑ दृष्टवा तु सुरा: सर्वे प्रणिपत्य महेश्वरम्
sadhūmān sasphulijāṁś ca vidyuttoyadarśanibhān | taṁ dṛṣṭvā tu surāḥ sarve praṇipatya maheśvaram ||
It appeared wreathed in smoke, throwing off sparks, and resembling lightning, torrents of rain, and the crash of thunder. Seeing that awe-inspiring manifestation, all the gods bowed down in reverence to Maheśvara (Śiva), acknowledging his overwhelming power and sovereignty.
व्यास उवाच
When confronted with a manifestation of overwhelming divine force, even the gods respond with humility and surrender; true power evokes reverence, reminding beings to recognize a higher moral and cosmic order.
A terrifying, storm-like, fiery appearance—smoke, sparks, lightning, rain, and thunder—is witnessed; in response, all the gods bow down to Maheśvara (Śiva), acknowledging him as the supreme lord in that moment.
