abhidratya ca viṁśatyā kṣudrakāṇāṁ nararṣabha | pañcabhiś cātivegena vivyādha puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Closing in at close range, Aśvatthāmā—foremost among men—first struck Dhṛṣṭadyumna with twenty arrows known as ‘kṣudraka’. Then, with five more shafts loosed at tremendous speed, he pierced him again, wounding him severely.
