Even great warriors depend on supporting roles and conditions—such as the steadiness of the charioteer and horses. In war, a single lapse (the charioteer’s collapse) can overturn strength, highlighting the fragility of control and the ethical weight of responsibility in one’s duty.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, in full view of the assembled archers, Bhīmasena’s horses suddenly ran off when the charioteer became unconscious, causing a moment of disarray on the battlefield.
