O King, when that weapon of Droṇa’s son was met with counter-missiles, it did not subside; rather, it swelled in force—like fire that, fanned by the wind, blazes all the more. The scene underscores a grim ethic of war: reckless escalation through weapon-against-weapon can magnify destruction instead of restraining it.

The verse warns that answering destructive force with further force can intensify harm—like wind feeding a flame—highlighting the need for restraint and wise countermeasures in warfare.
